Local radiotherapy campaigned Mylène and Fitzroy Boulting suggest a list of topics that should be included, (from a brief informal brainstorming of a few cancer patients).
Early diagnostic of cancer, which would include
Easier access to diagnostic, more frequent, more localised
Renewed GP training on recognising symptoms, and training/campaigns to help patients recognise them and challenge their GP
GP protocols for follow-up both hesitant patients and/or inconclusive test results
Better integration of care between services, through development of streamlined IT system to share patients file and communicate – patient to be included as the core of these systems
Bring specialists to the patients, e.g. organise consults and follow-ups at the ERH
Ensure local radiotherapy services are operating fully in 2027
Look at ED protocols to ensure cancer patients go straight through
Focus on smooth functioning of chemo pharmacy, eliminating drugs stock-outs
Creation of wellness centre for the new Eurobodalla hospital, including exercise physio, social workers, psychologists etc
