Walawaani on Wheels a big WOW for Mogo students
Imagine having a world class facility in your small town and not having the gear to use it? That was the thought of some local mountain bikers as they saw people from around the country pour into Mogo to use the new Mogo Trails. With a $20,000 grant from Fire to Flourish, Jamie Clout from Batemans Bay Mountain Bike Club has leveraged the value to around $50,000 worth of brand new top of the line bikes, protective gear, lessons and clinics on bike maintenance for the students at Mogo Public School. The excited students were shown the new kit yesterday afternoon at the school.
Joel Batey from Ride The Bay supplied the bikes and Moruya Bikes, Batemans Bay Cycles and Ride the Bay will all be available to fix them up for free. Moruya Bikes will have bikes, helmets and Sendy safety gear to borrow anytime from their Mogo store, opening soon. Batemans Bay Mountain Bike Club will arrange coaches for skill sessions and bike maintenance. On top of all the generous donations, Next Level MTB, who have been building the Mogo Trails, will build a mini trail around the school grounds for free. With the ability to use the trails in their own town, will the next MTB Champ come from Mogo?
