There were plenty of reasons to celebrate at the Bay Pavilions on Saturday night, but none bigger than Yumaro’s double win as Business of the Year and Outstanding Community Organisation at the 2026 Eurobodalla Business Awards.
Eurobodalla Mayor Mathew Hatcher said the recognition was a fitting tribute to an organisation that has spent decades creating opportunities for people living with disability, helping them feel connected, valued and included across the region.
“Yumaro’s one of those organisations that everyone knows – you see their team out and about in the community every day,” Mayor Hatcher said.
“They’ve changed a lot of lives through the opportunities they’ve created, and that’s only possible because of the people who show up every day genuinely caring about what they do and who they do it for.”
Yumaro wasn’t the only winner with a story to tell. The crowd cheered on businesses both big and small, emerging ventures and inspiring individuals who’ve made their mark in the local economy.
“It was great seeing a mix of familiar faces and first-time winners up on stage,” Mayor Hatcher said.
“Beach Road Surgery and Skin Clinic had a huge night, taking home two awards, and Charlotte Jenkins from Clyde’s Equine Bodywork proved last year’s success was no fluke by once again being named Outstanding Young Business Leader.
“I loved seeing the range of winners – you’ve got Sea Otter Australia Festival bringing people to the region from across the country and overseas, River of Art showcasing our incredible creative community, and a new business like Foxdog Distillery and Brewery already making a real impression.
“It tells me the Eurobodalla’s in good hands – we’ve got people willing to have a crack, try new things and give back to their community.”
Award winners from select categories will be invited to the South East NSW Region Awards, with the opportunity to progress to the NSW Business Awards later this year.
Mayor Hatcher said the evening was about taking a moment to recognise the people behind the businesses.
“Running a business isn’t easy, so it’s nice to take a night to celebrate the people out there doing it well,” Mayor Hatcher said.
“One of my favourite parts of the night was seeing businesses that have been around for years celebrating alongside newcomers just getting started.”
